I started out doing freelance video production in April 2006 and began using Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, and later the Creative Suite family. In 2008 I took a job at Ashland University in the Media Services division of the I.T. Department and was introduced to Final Cut Pro 5, part of the original Final Cut Studio. When Apple introduced Final Cut Studio 2 in 2007, I switched to this editing platform. I currently use Final Cut Studio 3 and the Adobe Creative Suite 5 for my production purposes.
My first video camera I’ve ever owned was the Sony HDR-FX1. This shot 1440x1080i footage on MiniDV tapes, and still have the camera today. I bought it in 2007. This past December 2010, I purchased the Nikon D7000 DSLR to replace the Nikon D40x DSLR still camera I owned.
Though I am currently a Nikon DSLR owner and user, I have used and shot with the Canon EOS 7D as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience in working with HDSLR cameras.
